Community Session

Community-Defined Empowerment: Advocacy and Collaboration for Health Equity

Date & Time: Monday, March 30, 3:20 – 4:20 pm PST

The Social Mission Alliance (SMA) commits to highlighting and directly contributing to the communities where our conference takes place. The conference provides a national platform for local, social mission aligned programs, initiatives, and organizations working with community members directly to achieve equitable and improved health outcomes. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about these efforts and seek collaboration with community organizations.

Representatives from My TRIBE Rise, MOMS Orange County, El Sol Science and Arts Academy, and The Cambodian Family, community-based organizations who serve the greater Los Angeles area, will share their organization’s work and the most pressing issues their communities face. Panelists will discuss their vision for stronger partnerships, sustained and shared resources, shared accountability, and building stronger, coordinated systems of care.

Panelists:

My TRIBE Rise

We create programs that meet the immediate needs of Altadenans, including and especially the low-income, elderly, disabled, unhoused and formerly-incarcerated Black residents of Altadena and the surrounding areas. We serve our community with peace, dignity, and love by rapidly responding to needs for public safety, food and housing, economic development, and solutions to end violence.
